Manages and maintains the facility’s labor process according to the company’s labor management policy. Control Nursing departments scheduling and timekeeping software to minimize premium pay (overtime and agency), ensure Nursing Hour Per Patient Day (HPPD) is at the appropriate budgeted level, ensure adjusted schedule changes are made, ensure budgeted levels are met by evaluating potential overages prior to payroll processing.

Lead the facility’s labor management team by proactively managing the centers labor management performance against Key Performance Indicators. Takes initiative to call upon necessary resources to address root cause issues; Serves as primary contact for Nursing department’s labor policy and process.

Manages the labor management process in the center based on established daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly routines to ensure employee and customer satisfaction.

Maintains center coverage at all times. Reviews and tracks requests for time off. Coordinates scheduling changes with management.

Serves as liaison with Staff with respect to work schedules. Negotiates schedules balancing centers staffing needs, employee schedule preferences, and financial performance.

Personally responds to emergency situations and call-offs to ensure center coverage. When not available to respond, ensures Nursing Administration has been briefed on the call-off policy to ensure adequate response and coverage.

Reconciles time cards daily and approve departmental payroll by deadline.

Conducts daily, weekly, and payroll audits & reviews to minimize overages.

Maintains confidentiality with respect to all employee information including but not limited to schedule preferences, rates, and payroll.

Schedules and coordinates on call staff to meet emergency staffing needs.

Assists in the Human Resources function including processing of benefit time.

Maintains records of Nursing certifications/licenses to meet scheduling requirements.

 

Education/Work Experience:

 

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience, such as 3 -5 years previous work experience preferably healthcare or LTC with proven track record in similar position, scheduling or payroll. A Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business is preferred.
