Job Description:

Are you a skilled and motivated attorney with a passion for insurance defense? We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join our reputable law firm in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in Missouri and preferably in Kansas as well, and have a strong background in insurance defense litigation.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and legal documents.
  • Provide sound legal advice and strategies to clients on insurance-related issues.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and trials as necessary.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and colleagues to develop effective case strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
  • Stay current with changes in insurance laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Admission to the Missouri bar is required; admission to the Kansas bar is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience practicing insurance defense litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance laws, regulations, and industry practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
