CAD Design Technician

Doncaster

We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Design Engineer with a mechanical engineering background to join our client’s team of twelve designers. Reporting directly to the Design Office Manager, this individual should possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a diverse range of engineering processes and projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Autodesk Inventor for 3D and 2D design.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
  • Background in mechanical engineering.
  • Must have the ability to use own initiative and be autonomous to improve designs.

Role and Duties:

  • Assist the Design Office Manager in various design-related tasks.
  • Manage CAD and drawing standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Develop and maintain bill of materials (BOM), creation, and publishing of drawings.
  • Perform general software troubleshooting to address technical issues.
  • Contribute to the development of new machinery when required.
  • Oversee the design and documentation of standard parts in collaboration with the Design Office Manager.
  • Program standard configurable machines efficiently.
  • Provide general design troubleshooting and advice.

Working hours: Monday to Thursday from 08:00 am to 17:00 pm, and Friday from 08:00 am to 16:30 pm.
