Overview / Job Summary: 
The primary function of the Functional Systems Analyst is to provide ongoing support and improvement of the college’s Student Information System (Banner) and supporting interfaces and systems.  This position will be equally comprised of technical, functional and support related tasks. This position will provide system process analysis, testing, troubleshooting and support in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, and back up for additional areas. This position will actively consult and partner with functional user departments, Information Technology and Institutional Research to drive process improvement, drive best practices, build automation, and provide day-to-day support of
business needs.
 
Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:  

•    Analyzes existing processes and procedures in the functional user departments, identifies problems and areas for improvement, and provides solutions and enhancements. 
•    Designs, develops, and implements new processes and procedures in the functional user departments. 
•    Acts as a liaison between functional user departments and Information Technology to effectively manage projects and tickets to resolution and recommend additional development based on needs. 
•    Works directly with IT Developer team to assist in overall project management and communication.
•    Assists in the designing, configuring, developing, testing, and implementing of approved applications, including web forms, interfaces, etc. 
•    Prepares and maintains forms, documentation, and manuals as needed for effective implementation, maintenance, and continued operation of applications. 

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team who will play a pivotal role in user training and education, both internally and externally. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the college's technology staff to test software upgrades and patches, ensuring seamless integration with other University data systems. This role involves maintaining communication with professional organizations, vendors, and user groups to foster technical competence and innovation. The successful candidate will ensure that system interfaces are tested and maintained, assist users with various functions, and develop comprehensive end-user documentation and training materials.
 
Education: 
•    Associate degree, required.  Bachelor’s preferred.  
  
Preferred Requirements:  
•    Understanding of relational databases and student information systems (ex. Banner, Jenzabar, PeopleSoft, etc.) Familiarity with Banner preferred
•    Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including ability to use Microsoft Office desktop tools (Outlook, Excel, Word) 
•    Ability to read and understand the functional logic of SQL queries. 
•    Experience in analyzing, documenting, and modifying business requirements. 
•    Experience in reporting and data analysis through the use of reporting software. 
•    Ability to diagnose & troubleshoot application errors. 
•    Project planning experience preferred
