The Civil Engineer II - Highway/Roadway Design will primarily be responsible for civil roadway design and analysis of civil engineering and infrastructure projects such as roads and bridges. You will leverage your engineering knowledge and skills to prepare detailed studies, construction documents, drawing, maps, reports and supporting documentation and calculations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with Project Managers to execute and oversee technical design and production of roadway and highway project plan from conceptual through final design and Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E). Produce Stormwater Management, Drainage and Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control designs for a variety of complex roadway projects. Inspect existing Stormwater Management facilities to ensure they function as designed. Lead and perform the development of complex design drawings and engineering estimates involving highway and bridge projects including coordination with various engineering disciplines. Review the work of junior engineering staff, provide QA/QC, mentorship and training. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of related highway design experience for transportation clients including but not limited to; PennDOT, City of Philadelphia, PA Turnpike Commission and Local Counties and Municipalities. Working knowledge of federal, state and local design standards including but not limited to FHWA, PennDOT, City of Philadelphia publications and design manuals. Professional Engineering license in PA. Ability to multitask and prioritize competing project obligations. Strong English language skills, written and verbal are essential to long term success in this role. Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft office Suite and Bentley Systems software including but not limited to MicroStation, Open Roads Designer and Projectwise. Project Task Management experience.

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000+. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
