Fuel Station Technician

Position Summary

Service, clean and perform minor maintenance on fuel station pumps and equipment; repair and troubleshoot pump failures and perform a variety of other tasks related to area of assignment.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

One (1) year general equipment or automotive maintenance experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  

Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.

Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.

When assigned to General Services Department:

Class C Fuel Operator Certification within six (6) months from date of hire.
Forklift Certification within six (6) months from date of hire.

Preferred Knowledge

Basic operational characteristics of fuel pumps Methods and techniques of fuel pump repair and maintenance Occupational hazards and standard safety practices Basic record keeping/accounting principles

Preferred Skills & Abilities

Service, clean and perform maintenance on fuel pumps Maintain records of fuel pump maintenance performed Work independently in the absence of supervision Understand and follow oral and written instructions Communicate clearly and concisely Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
