As one of the oldest state parks lodging systems in the country, the Indiana State Park Inns proudly operates seven unique and beautiful facilities throughout our great state of Indiana. Each one offers a unique experience for guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and make memories naturally

The historic Potawatomi Inn, located within Pokagon State Park, sits along the shore of one of Indiana’s largest lakes, Lake James, in Angola, Indiana. The inn features 126 guest rooms, 12 cabins, two onsite restaurants (Lakeview Restaurant and the Courtyard Café), an indoor pool, and 10,000 square feet of banquet/conference space.

Role Overview

At the Indiana State Park Inns, success is based on teamwork, quality, integrity, loyalty, passion, friendliness, and safety. Indiana State Park Inns workers provide friendly customer service while ensuring the general upkeep of the inn to provide guests with a high-quality experience.

A Day in the Life:

Food & Beverage employees serve in the Inn’s dining facilities to handle all dining room and banquet culinary services for guests. Food & Beverage positions and their essential functions are as follows: 

Banquet Set-Up: Responsible for the setup and cleanliness of all banquet and meeting rooms, ensuring that all rooms are set according to guest’s requested specifications. This position starts at $ per hour.  Bartender: Responsible for setting up and running bar services to provide the highest quality of service to guests in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. This position starts at $ per hour and is eligible to receive tips.  Cashier/Host/Busser: Responsible for greeting, seating, and checking out guests to provide the highest quality of service in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. Also responsible for clearing and resetting tables in a timely and efficient manner. This position starts at $ per hour.  Cook/Baker/Kitchen Prep: Responsible for preparing food for the restaurant and banquets in a timely, professional manner while maintaining the highest standards in food quality. This position starts at $ per hour.  Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper: Responsible for cleaning, sorting, and proper storing of all dining ware and food preparation equipment.This position starts at $ per hour.  Server: Responsible for greeting, taking orders, and delivering food to guests to provide the highest quality of service in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. This position starts at $ per hour and is eligible to receive tips. 

What You'll Need for Success:

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

Excellent customer service skills.  Ability to take care of guests’ needs in a professional manner. Should expect to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. May be required to wear an Indiana State Park Inns-provided uniform. May experience working in potentially inclement weather. Some positions require the incumbent to possess an Indiana ATC Employee Permit to sell alcohol or the ability to obtain a permit. ​​​​​​​

Benefits of Employment with the Indiana State Park Inns:

Indiana State Park Inns supplements its full-time workforce with intermittent and part-time employees to effectively manage the workload. Management will determine which positions are considered part-time and which are considered intermittent. Part-time and intermittent employees enjoy flexible scheduling, have opportunities to learn new skills, and experience working in one of the most beautiful places in Indiana
 
Employees who are placed in intermittent positions work less than 30 hours per week and are not eligible for benefits. Employees who are placed in part-time positions work 30-36 hours per week and are eligible for a limited benefits package which includes medical insurance, paid time off, and new parent leave.
