JOB OVERVIEW:

Backcountry specializes in providing top-quality outdoor gear and equipment for a variety of activities, including biking, hiking, camping, snow sports, and more. Our mission is to provide our customers with the best gear and advice to help them get the most out of their outdoor adventures. We are looking for adynamic and enthusiastic Gearhead (Sales Associate) to join our retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible forproviding exceptional customer service, generating sales, and helping customers find the right outdoor gear and apparel for their needs. The ideal candidate should have a passion for outdoor activities and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Greet and assist customers with their purchasesProvide product information, advice, and recommendations to customersProcess sales transactions accurately and efficientlyMaintain a clean and organized store environmentManage inventory levels and restock merchandiseParticipate in company-wide promotions and marketing campaignsCollaborate with the marketing and buying teams to ensure product offerings align with customer needsContinuously strive to improve customer satisfaction and exceed sales targetsDevelop and maintain knowledge of products, industry trends, and competitorsSpecialized knowledge in skiing, snowboarding, biking, climbing, fly fishing, or other outdoor sport preferredOutdoor industry and retail experience, nice to have

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferredPrevious retail sales experience preferredExcellent communication and customer service skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentBasic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systemsFlexibility to work weekends, holidays, and eveningsPassion for outdoor activities and knowledge of outdoor gear and apparel #BMP
