MaxPak , a TRG company and affiliate of Schwarz Partners, has an exciting opportunity available for a  Corrugator Supervisor inLakeland, FL The Corrugator Supervisor is responsible for the Supervision of all employees within the department in the daily routine of producing quality corrugated products on a safe and productive manner with minimum waste. Provide cross-training to employees in key positions.

ESSENTIAL   JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

Maintain quality, efficiencies, and production levels set by management. Communicate these standards to the team on a daily and weekly basis. Report quality concerns to Quality Systems Manager and Production Manager. Assist in determining quality guidelines. Directly supervise all employees assigned to the department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Includes training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work and appraising performance by completing reviews on an annual basis – rewarding and disciplining employees, conflict resolution, team building, coaching and leading employees to improve, addressing complaints and resolving problems, documentation, and setting an example of superior behavior, attitude, and performance. Establish high morale within your department by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problems and discuss with HR when appropriate or needed. Maintain inventories of departmental supplies. Coordinate with Maintenance Manager on any repairs or preventive maintenance done within the department. Keep upper management informed of problems or situations that may affect the performance of your department. Enforce the corrective action procedures when applicable and conduct meetings with employees involving HR in all disciplinary type proceedings. Conduct weekly production/safety meetings with department personnel. Make decisions and communicate with necessary supervision to avoid problems between shift changes. Improve career skills by enrolling in seminars, technical courses, and related college courses. Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, safety program, LEAN program, and good housekeeping. Comply with company policies and procedures. Regular and predictable attendance. Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPEREINCE:

High school diploma or GED. Two years prior supervisory experience. Maintain a current Lift Truck Operator license.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPEREINCE:

Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Ability to read and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, operating and maintenance instructions, regulatory laws and manuals, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence effectively and accurately. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and employees of the company. Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, commissions, proportions, taxes, insurance premiums, and accruals. Requires strong mathematical skills using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to solve practical problems and not so practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must have a working knowledge of the following: excellent knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation, cost issues in order to make daily decisions that will reduce overall costs and will help the supervisor find areas that require improvement, maintain quality standards, and meet regulatory requirements including but not limited to wage and hour requirements, environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements including OSHA, DEQ, and EEO.

Must possess the following: superior time management skills including the ability to manage multiple issues concurrently and the ability to lead an effective and efficient meeting, superior communication and teaching skills in order to function effectively as a teacher for his/her personnel, excellent crisis manager who demonstrates that he/she has a high emotional control under adverse conditions and can lead his/her personnel to a successful resolution, professional appearance, and demonstrated confidence including providing a consistent leadership style with an acceptable level of professional assertiveness. Excellent employee relations skills including being an active listener, understanding how to appraise personnel, applying both positive and corrective feedback, being able to resolve conflicts either involving the supervisor directly or as a third party, understands and demonstrates positive motivational skills including coaching and delegation techniques.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear, stand, and sit. Vision requirements include: close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job in the plant, the employee is exposed to hot or cold, wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the plant work environment is usually loud.
