This position is with a hospital employed practice located in Logan, West Virginia in the MOB on the campus of Logan Regional Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to demonstrate strong clinical skills providing care for women in the office, hospital and labor and delivery settings and must be experienced and willing to work in a team setting and. Logan Regional is a 140-bed acute care facility in Logan, WV offering a full range of health care services to a service area close to 200,000 people in southwestern West Virginia and eastern Kentucky. - The Women’s Center is in the newest wing of the hospital with 3 LDRs and 7 postpartum rooms - Level I Nursery - 24/7 anesthesia coverage for OB and dedicated triage rooms within unit - Over 200 births each year - Pediatric coverage is available for emergency c-sections. Logan is surrounded by spectacular mountains, swirling rivers, and scenic countryside. It is a community of people that enjoy a small town feel and a love for the outdoors with easy access to city amenities. Hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, skiing, and four-wheeling opportunities are endless, and Charleston is an easy commuting distance, just a short 60-mile drive away. The beautiful mountainous scenery and friendly hospitality that southern West Virginia has to offer, makes Logan a great place to live and practice medicine

•Provide Midwifery services to assigned patients•Acquire and maintain privileges as independent allied health professional staff•Work as member of a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological health care•Provide primary care based on protocols•May include family member follow-up as indicated•Obtain comprehensive history, perform a comprehensive physical exam and identify deviations from normal•Order approved diagnostic tests, lab tests and medications as indicated•Perform lab tests as indicated: Multistix Urinalysis, Nitrazine and Ferning Test for Rupture of Amniotic Membranes, and information according to the management process•Complete all required documentation•Manage prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, normal newborn, family planning and gynecological care of patients•Consult, collaboratively manage and/or refer deviations from normal as appropriate•Initiate emergency treatment as necessary•Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills•Attend assigned clinical sessions and meetings•Maintain records, compile statistics, prepare required reports•Participate in research, educational activities and the teaching of students, as assigned•Observe all health and safety requirements•Competency StatementMust demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist•Common Duties and Responsibilities(Essential duties common to all positions)1. Maintain and document all applicable required education.2•Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.3. Comply with the company's attendance policy.4•Participate in the continuous, quality improvement activities of the department and institution.5. Perform work in a cost effective manner.6. Perform work in accordance with all departmental pay practices and scheduling policies, including but not limited to, overtime, various shift work, and on-call situations•Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization•Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable.9. Education

• Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree preferred

 Credentials

 • Registered Nurse (Required)

 • Basic Life Support (Required) Within 30 days of hire

 • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Certification in Nurse Midwifery
