Number of Positions: 1

Duties:

  • Perform complex procedures including multiplanar imaging, 3D reconstructions, and advanced imaging techniques.
  • Operate CT equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Review and evaluate developed X-rays, video tape, or computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.
  • Follow prescribed techniques in administering general and specific CT scans; adjust equipment; determine proper voltage, current, and desired exposure time.
  • Position and immobilize patient on examining table.
  • Monitor video display of area being scanned and adjust density or contrast to improve picture quality.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update PACS and RIS with accurate patient information.
  • Work closely with radiologists to determine the best method of achieving optimal images.

Requirements:

  • 1 year CT Technologist experience required
  • Proficiency with relevant equipment
  • A valid license as a radiologic technologist, nuclear medicine technologist, or in radiation therapy issued by the NYSDOH
  • Post-primary certification in computed tomography issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
  • BLS preferred

Languages:

  • English (Read, Write, Speak)

Schedule:

  • Anticipated Start Date: 08/19/2024
  • Hours Per Week: 40.00
  • Shift Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Rotating weekends and holidays required
  • Approved for 8 weeks, with eligibility for extension
