The Solution Engineering Specialist is a great opportunity for an engineer with technical experience to transition into a customer solution oriented role with AVL Test Systems, Inc.
AVL is seeking an ambitious, self-motivated and experienced professional engineer to join our team. The Solution Engineering Specialist fulfills a vital role within AVL by creating packages of equipment, software, and services to meet the customer’s requirements, and translating these needs into cost effective technical solutions. This Solution Engineering Specialist must have a technical ability in relation to business and customer abilities as well. The role involves creating and developing customer solutions multiples areas, including engine, powertrain, e-motor, e-axle and battery testing. This position will create and develop customer solutions for a variety of customers (ranging from start-ups to OEMs) and continue supporting the growth of AVL Test Systems with new customers.

ROLES:
Works with the AVL Account Manager to drive sales and achieve targets Makes presentations and conducts product demonstrations at customer locations Responsible for the technical content and accuracy of customer quotations Provides market feedback for future product development and innovative approaches to increase sales revenues Stays abreast of development activities at main competitors and creates/implements corresponding action plans Works with Business Development to create strategic plans and product enhancements to increase market share and maximize revenue Develops and maintains customer relationshipsQUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required Master’s degree preferred 5+ years’ experience in related area Strong communication skills Strong fundamental knowledge of powertrain testing Demonstrated experience with AVL related products preferred Demonstrated successful experience in technical sales preferred Ability to multi-task and manage projects/assignments while under time restrictions Travel approximately 10 – 25% to meet the needs of customers / minimal overseas travel required AVL provides a competitive compensation and benefits package to all direct hires.
