Job Description: Pipe Welder B1313 Certified

Pay Range: $25-30 per hour

Location: Brandon, MS

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pipe Welder/ Pipefitter B1313 certified professional to join our team. This position is based in Brandon, MS, and we prefer candidates who are local or willing to travel to the area. The ideal candidate will have at least 4+ years of hands-on experience in stainless and carbon steel welding. Candidates must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen. Candidates must also be able to pass a X-Ray welding test.

The operating hours are from 7 am to 3 pm with opportunity for time and a half if working before 7 am and after 3 pm. There is also the opportunity for double time on Sundays. Candidates can expect approximately 40 - 60-hour weeks.

Responsibilities:

  1. Pipe Welding: The primary responsibility of the pipe welder will be to perform high-quality welding on various types of pipes, using appropriate welding techniques and equipment. This includes ensuring accurate measurements, proper fit-up, and strong, durable welds.
  2. Pipe Fitting: In addition to welding, the candidate should have proficiency in pipe fitting tasks. This includes interpreting blueprints and specifications, cutting and threading pipes, installing and aligning piping systems, and connecting pipes using various methods such as soldering, brazing, and flange connections.
  3. Material Preparation: The pipe welder/ pipefitter will be responsible for preparing materials for welding and fitting operations. This may involve measuring and cutting pipes to specific lengths, beveling edges, and cleaning materials to remove contaminants.
  4. Quality Control: Ensuring the quality of welds and fittings is crucial in this role. The candidate should possess a keen eye for detail to inspect finished work for defects and make necessary adjustments to meet industry standards and project specifications.
  5. Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures is paramount. The candidate must be knowledgeable about safety guidelines and regulations related to welding and fitting operations and take necessary precautions to prevent accidents or injuries.
  6. Team Collaboration: Collaborating with other team members, such as supervisors, engineers, and other tradespeople, is essential. Effective communication skills and the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment will contribute to the success of the projects.

Requirements:

  1. B1313 Certification: The candidate must possess a valid B1313 certification, demonstrating their expertise in pipe welding.
  2. Experience: A minimum of 4+ years of experience as a pipe welder and fitter is required. Candidates will be required to pass an X-Ray Test. This experience should include working on industrial or commercial projects, preferably with exposure to various pipe materials and diameters.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in welding techniques, such as TIG, MIG, and stick welding, is essential. Additionally, the candidate should have a strong understanding of pipefitting processes, including cutting, threading, and assembling piping systems.
  4. Blueprint Reading: The ability to interpret and understand complex blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings is necessary to perform accurate fitting and welding tasks.
  5. Physical Fitness: This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in demanding environments. The candidate should be capable of lifting heavy objects, working at heights, and bending, stooping, or kneeling for extended periods.
  6. Safety Consciousness: Familiarity with safety protocols and practices related to welding and fitting operations is crucial. The candidate should prioritize safety, follow safety guidelines, and promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
