Technician - Monitor/Ward Clerk

POSITION OVERVIEW:Works with RN, to indirectly care for patients in the Hospital from admission to discharge. Under the direct supervision of the registered/licensed nurse, Works with RN and C.N.A. to assist with patients in the Hospital from admission to discharge. Responsible for ongoing surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED Successful completion of the basic dysrhythmia test with a minimum of 90% accuracy, identifying all lethal rhythms with 100% accuracy. Basic cardiac rhythm and computer course, preferred.EXPERIENCE:
Minimum one year experience in acute care setting, preferred. Previous Monitor Tech experience greater than one year, preferred.LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
MT CNA, preferred. ACLS certification, preferred. PALS certification, preferred.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Medical Terminology Basic anatomy/physiology of the heart, and basic cardiac rhythms. Clear and concise communication skills. Keyboarding Skills. Basic office skills. Basic patient care. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, clinicians, and other health team professionals. Ability to accept responsibility for accuracy and response times to emergence and non-emergent requests.ABOUT US:
