We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Data Steward supporting Digital Health Data & Analytics Team in Ft. Worth, TX , you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of innovative data products & platform features and enhancements as outlined on the Data & Analytics Roadmap. You will work closely with the product owners, engineers, and data sciences teams as well as key data stakeholders to manage new data initiatives and related projects for reusable data products and analytics platforms that drive efficiency, scalability, and actionable insights that revolutionize the way connected and personalized care is delivered. You will be a champion and advocate for driving the sustainable value creation from data and AI, both for our customers and Alcon.

In this role, a typical day will include:

Data Strategy & Governance:

Translate business strategies into actionable business-oriented data management strategies for the assigned domain. Manage data initiatives and related projects by defining high-level business case, providing requirements, and tracking and prioritizing data projects within domain. Define standards for data within assigned domain. Manage access and provisioning by defining access permission plan, monitoring distribution of data from the domain, approving data provisioning to authorized users, supporting data users as an expert of data in domain, negotiating Data Service Agreements and ensuring data access and provisioning comply with standards and controls. Data Architecture Determine golden sources of data in scope. Data dictionary Define/Validate business definitions for data elements. Review data lineage and technical metadata for data elements Identify need for changes in metadata within domain. Implement changes to business definitions.

Data Quality

Define quality rules for data within domain. Prioritize issues to remediate. Review and approve remediation plans. Oversee remediation of Data Quality issues.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs) 5 Years of Relevant Experience The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
