Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist (School-Based)
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensure and Certification:
- Washington State License in Speech-Language Pathology (required).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (preferred).
- Washington State ESA (Educational Staff Associate) Certification in Speech and Language Pathology (required for school-based positions).
- Experience:
- Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with students who have a range of communication disorders, including articulation, language, voice, and fluency issues.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to assess and develop effective treatment plans for students.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of educators, parents, and specialists.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Requirements:
- Background check and fingerprint clearance as required by Washington state law for school employees.
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
- Compliance with district health and safety policies.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. This school-based role involves working with students to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders, helping them reach their full potential in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals.
- Provide therapy sessions, both individually and in groups, tailored to students' specific needs.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students' academic and social success.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for accommodations and modifications.
- Stay current with best practices, research, and technology in speech-language pathology.
