At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Deputy Program Manager, a typical day will include the following duties:

JOB DESCRIPTION

In concert with the Program Manager, manages and is responsible for the successful completion of all tasks in assigned program area including technical work, staff supervision, financial and business development activities.   As a member of the PMO team, this candidate will work in a multi-tasking, quick-paced, process-improvement environment that requires knowledge of project management.  In addition to a technical background, a successful Deputy Program Manager demonstrate a thorough knowledge of operations and expertise in procedures to guide, manage, and support project.   

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience as a program manager on projects of comparable complexity and providing specialized development and engineering services in support of technical operations.
  • Team focused, willing to develop and implement solutions in a dispersed team environment.
  • Demonstrated and current experience managing programs with complex data processing requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cost, schedule, and budge of contract against mission requirements and prioritization.
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, interpersonal, and team building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated and current experience managing programs delivering technologically complex solutions to address 24/7 near-real time data processing/availability requirements.
  • Prior experience managing projects with dependencies across Intelligence Community elements.
  • Prior experience managing projects with OCONUS short- and long-term deployments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises assigned staffing, including subordinate supervisors.
  • Participates in the development of technical project plans, proposals, reports, and task order and administrative reporting.
  • May also perform high level technical services on assigned tasks.
  • Conducts planning and provides recommendations to client on task workload.
  • Attends customer meetings and may serve as primary liaison.
  • Interacts with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff on behalf of the client.
  • Coordinates development of deliverables and products.
  • Ensures quality assurance of program deliverables.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.
