About The Position
Shift: 09:00 pm - 07:00 am Thur-Sat;Description:Bonus: 15k Sign On Bonus Performs routine and some special procedure imaging, diagnostic and medical sonograms. Prepares patient for procedures. Assists Radiologists when needed. Prepares, operates and cares for the equipment being used. Develops/processes films when needed. Adheres to established radiology “standards of care”. Obtains appropriate continuing education. Assumes responsibility for assigned area and duties. Adheres to hospital wide customer service programs. Performs other duties as assigned such as quality assurance.Exercises professional judgment in performance of procedures. Provides patient care.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Understands and adheres to the Facility Performance Standards, Policies and BehaviorsPerforms all other related duties as assignedPrepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol including proper documentation on images and required body part questionnairesAssumes responsibilities for designated areas and/ or procedures and produces good technical imagesAssist physicians during procedures as necessaryPerforms equipment quality assurance and calibrations as needed, orders suppliesWill be required to work in case of emergency procedures or when situations arise in the department. Will be needed to work on call, holidays, overtime and / or day, evening and overnight shift coverage to help maintain adequate and safe coverage for the departmentMaintains the cleanliness of all work areas, equipment and accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to Bio Med and/or supervisor.Processes films, or print pictures if neededPerforms routine office duties, such as answering phones, checking previous reports/films, documents information on patients’ request, Meditech or hospital RISS system and PAC’s digital x-ray system.Notifies transport when patients are ready to be picked up or returned to floors.Shows radiologist all films and calls reports to the attending physician and documents communication if necessary.May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor.Will treat all people/staff in a professional and courteous manner, upholding the hospital’s behavioral standards.Will introduce him/her and educate the patient and/or family member regarding the examination that is ordered.Should be knowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age, physical and psychosocial stature of patient populations; neonate/newborn, pediatric/adolescent, adults and geriatric groupsPerforms all other related duties as assignedDuties and hours may change according to the needs of the department or hospitalTeam work, adaptability, communication skills, problem-solving skills, planning and organizing, attention to detail, judgment and decisions making skills, stress tolerance.Certification/License Requirements :Must meet continuing education requirements to maintain certification.ARDMS required for ACR accreditationBCLS (CPR) certification is preferredExperience/Education:High school Diploma/GED required.Experience preferred.
