Position: Slitter Operator
Location: Murfreesboro, TN
Pay Rate: $22.93 ($.50 shift differential for 3rd shift)
Shift: 3rd

While reporting to the shift supervisor, the Slitter Operator will be responsible for the safe, quality and efficient operation of all parts of the paper slitting equipment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Responsible to correct and/or report all unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Constantly monitor quality and document quality checks as prescribed. 
  • Prepare line and have it operating in time allotted by management.
  • Check all material specifications when brought to the line. 
  • Time management and looking ahead is a must. 
  • Make sure that all materials are set up for the next operating shift.
  • Constantly exercise good housekeeping and keep all areas clean and neat during the shift and clean for the next operating shift. 
  • Constant communication with necessary team members.  Especially in order to control quality and defect containment. 
  • Responsibility/Accountability to report all downtime and/or malfunctioning equipment to respective maintenance men and supervision. 
  • Responsible for continuous production flow, quick changeover execution with minimal scrap, process adjustments as needed and running equipment to posted speeds.
  • Train other operators as needed according to prescribed guidelines.
  • Uphold and protect all Product Safety guidelines.
  • Meet or exceed designated efficiencies and scrap rates. 

We'd like to hear from you if:

  • You have the ability to operate a slitter machine.
  • Must have working knowledge of the slitting machine operation.
  • Must assume responsibility for the safe, quality and efficient operation of all parts of the paper slitting equipment.
  • Must work effectively and efficiently to accomplish all tasks/responsibilities to ensure proper inventory levels. 
  • Must have troubleshooting ability, good manual coordination and continuous learning ability.
  • Slitter Operator has 6 months from date of qualification to be effective as a set-up operator or he/she will be disqualified from slitter completely.
