Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Highway Intern, we'll count on you to:

• Provide project engineering/project delivery supports with a focus on transportation projects and public transportation clients throughout the Southern California Region

• Anticipated work tasks may include; Work on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects.

• Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications and calculations. 

• Offer real-world experience on exciting projects

• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professional's programs

• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures

• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager

• Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program with anticipated graduation date within 6 months

• Attention to detail a must

• Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Basic Microsoft Office skills

• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with a minimum of 3.0 GPA

• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry

• Experience with MicroStation, InRoads, AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred

• Preference will be given to local candidates
