Job Overview:
In this role as a COTA, you'll play a vital role in supporting licensed Occupational Therapists (OTs) by participating in assessments, diagnoses, and treatments of students facing various physical and developmental hurdles. Your collaboration with our team will involve assisting in the creation and implementation of treatment plans, administering therapy services, and closely tracking client progress. This position offers a unique opportunity to significantly contribute to the occupational therapy field and positively impact others' lives.
Responsibilities:
Aid in conducting assessments, under the supervision of licensed OTs, to pinpoint physical and developmental obstacles.
Assist in crafting personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings, client objectives, and guidance from OTs.
Administer therapeutic interventions as directed by licensed OTs, encompassing tailored occupational therapy services for student requirements.
Utilize a variety of tools and methods to enhance motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
Collaborate with families, caregivers, and fellow professionals to provide assistance and education on occupational therapy matters.
Help monitor student progress, document treatment outcomes, and communicate findings to licensed OTs.
Stay updated on occupational therapy advancements by engaging in professional development endeavors.
Take part in team meetings, case conferences, and contribute to the overall success of the school.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or a related field.
Possession of a valid and active state certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
Previous experience working as a COTA or in a similar capacity is preferred.
Familiarity with assessment tools and therapeutic techniques commonly used in occupational therapy.
Ability to work effectively under licensed OT supervision and collaborate seamlessly within a team environment.
