Position Description:

CGI Federal is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team in documenting financial processes and solutions to the latest challenges using new technology, supporting our client in their journey to embrace process re-engineering and automation and new technologies.
This position is located in our Fairfax,VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including standard operating procedures, user instruction, technical specifications, and/or API documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and business process re-engineering teams for accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Communicate complex financial or technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers
- Document integration processes and procedures
- Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
- Recommend improvements in standard processes, including document templates and communication with the technical team members.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

- 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining technical documentation
- Strong writing and editing skills in technical documentation
- Ability to explain complex technical ideas in simple terms
- Experience with documentation tools (e.g., Markdown, Confluence, Jira, etc.)
- Ability to work well with a team of application developers including the ability to take content provided by the technical team and build customer-ready documents around the content.
- Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for technical and non-technical audiences and be skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
- Strong proficiency with MS Office applications, have excellent grammar skills and a strong attention to detail.
