Mental Health Associate, PSYCH CCIS

Job Overview:
As a Mental Health Associate, you will function as a care partner with the Registered Nurse to provide nursing care to a diagnostically/developmentally specific patient population. Under the Registered Nurse's supervision, the MHA will provide therapeutic interventions and treatments. The MHA may be responsible for unit support activities and clerical/administrative functions as directed.
Qualifications:
Required:
BA/BS degree in a psychology related field Or 5 years of related experience in a psychiatric service setting BLS Certification through American Heart Association Must successfully complete Monmouth Medical Center clinical training orientation Annual BEST certificationPreferred:
Previous experience in a psychiatric services settingScheduling Requirements:
Part-Time Day Shift 24 hours/ weekEssential Functions:
Assist with procedures, examinations and consults etc., under the supervision of the RN Assist with admissions, discharge and/or transfer procedures Collecting specimens (urine, blood, throat cultures, etc.) Maintains ongoing observation of patients throughout the shift and reports change to the licensed staff member responsible Obtaining patient vital signs, weights and I&Os Patient intake (demographics and history) Performs nursing activities under the supervision of the RN Supervising/assisting patients with activities of daily living, encouraging appropriate behaviors Participates in treatment team and related care plan updates.
