Job Title: Structural Steel & Misc Metal Drafter

Job Description:

• Utilize AutoCAD, Tekla, SDS2, & Advance Steel software to create detailed structural steel and miscellaneous metal drawings according to project specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to interpret design requirements and produce accurate drawings.
• Generate shop drawings, erection plans, and fabrication details for structural steel components, including beams, columns, and connections.
• Incorporate revisions and modifications to drawings based on feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure drawings comply with industry codes, regulations, and quality standards, such as AISC and AWS.
• Coordinate with fabrication shops and subcontractors to resolve design-related issues and ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to identify potential conflicts, errors, or discrepancies and propose solutions.
• Maintain organized documentation of drawings, revisions, and project correspondence for reference and audit purposes.
• Provide technical support and assistance to construction teams during the fabrication and erection phases of projects.
• Stay updated on advancements in drafting technologies, software, and industry best practices to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Demonstrate proficiency in both structural and miscellaneous metal detailing to effectively contribute to a variety of projects.
• Prioritize workload and manage deadlines to deliver high-quality drawings in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in SDS2 or Tekla software preferred - AutoCAD required
• Experience in both structural steel and miscellaneous metal detailing.
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methods.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting complex designs.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Previous experience in a similar role in the construction or steel fabrication industry is preferred.
• Certification or formal training in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field is advantageous.
