The company provides nutritious food for K-12 school foodservice customers and private brands for selected retailers. Position Overview:   The company seeks a proactive QA/QC Specialist passionate about food safety and quality. This role involves leading the supplier approval program, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and working cross-functionally to improve safety and quality processes. This is a great opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-paced, innovative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the supplier approval program to maintain compliance with QA/QC standards.
  • Collaborate across departments on product roll-out, compliance checks, and safety protocols.
  • Plan and execute projects while adhering to food safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Define safety compliance markers and manage technical safety issues.
  • Document audit reports and drive risk reduction strategies.
  • Work with the QA/QC team to develop programs that mitigate risks.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in food production and processing.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, ServSafe Certification).
  • Experience with auditing (e.g., Department of Health, FSSC, AIB).
  • Familiarity with FDA and USDA regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience in Ready-to-Eat (RTE) environments.
  • Ability to work independently and travel up to 40%.
