Tax Preparer

Responsibilities:

• Utilize Lacerte tax software to prepare and complete accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  
• Reconcile statements and other miscellaneous bookkeeping responsibilities for select clients
  
• Filing sales tax and advising clients on filing PTET returns using the NYS DTF website
  
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial documents and answer any tax-related or bookkeeping questions
  
• Stay up-to-date on changes in tax laws and regulations
  
• Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
  

RequirementsBasic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing tax returns
  
• Minimum 3 years of experience preparing individual and business income tax returns
  
• Knowledge of various tax forms and schedules
  
• Familiarity with 10-key typing for efficient data entry
  
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients
  
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  
• Bookkeeping experience is a plus.
