Job Description



The Budget Analyst is a professional member of theOperations and Budget Analytics area of the University’s Central Budget Office.This position has responsibilities that support report design and maintenanceas well as analytics, research, and training. The Analyst provides financial and technical support for the Operations,Systems and Planning functional areas of the Budget department, as well as theentire Finance division, and other University colleagues through applicationssuch as PeopleSoft Financials & HR, Cognos TM1 and Cognos 10 BI. The position requires strong Excel, reportwriting and analysis skills as well as the ability to establish and maintainstrong relationships and ongoing communication with various user constituenciesthat interact with the Budget Office. The Budget Analyst must also support the office in general duties asnecessary and act in a backup role to the Budget Information Systems Analyst forlimited coverage.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience with report/query writing desired, with PeopleSoft Financials, Cognos TM1 and Cognos 10 BI applications helpful. Must possess the ability to assimilate and apply new technologies. Knowledge of general budgeting and accounting principles required to be able to assist with the Annual Budget Development, Long-range Financial Plan and various analytics. Excellent communication and presentation skills with a strong customer service orientation necessary to provide training on Budget reporting tools and to troubleshoot system issues.

Titleand salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titlesand hiring ranges:

BudgetAnalyst I: 1 to 3 years of directlyrelated professional level experience; $55, - $69,

BudgetAnalyst II: 3 to 5 years of directlyrelated professional level experience; $61, - $77,

SeniorBudget Analyst: 5+ years of directlyrelated professional level experience; $75, - $93,
