Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Place purchase orders for product – whether components, materials, or supplies Monitor fulfillment exceptions on daily basis and execute necessary mitigation measures to ensure orders are fulfilled in timely manner Monitor supplier fulfillment exceptions by tracking need dates and delivery dates on a daily basis. Execute necessary measures to ensure orders are fulfilled in a timely manner. Monitor Open POs and assure that purchase orders are closed on a timely basis. Monitor and maintain vendor records with special attention to pricing, usage rates, lead times, vendor performance, and defective products Maintain active daily communication with facilities and satellite locations to ensure that issues with outbound and inbound orders are resolved timely Maintain and assist with the item master data for purchased parts in the ERP system, including reordering points and vendor information Analyze backlog daily to ensure parts will be shipped on time and provide appropriate follow-up and shipping information to the manufacturing sites Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional manner with suppliers, co-workers, and management ALWAYS act in a safe manner and ensure those around us do not put themselves or others at risk Travel is required to Jurupa Valley, CA or Ontario, CA on a quarterly basis to maintain a close working relationship with the facility operations and overall inventory status and needs. It is initially expected that this travel will be one trip each quarter for 3-4 days duration. Participate in Supplier Performance management processes Identifying new suppliers throughout requirements planning activities, coordinating with OEM manufacturing for approval on resourcing OEM items. Identifying and implement savings initiatives in all manufacturing materials and activity Maintain and keep daily performance KPI’s and reports Creating and issuing RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs as required Understanding of Excel data management formulas and functionalities Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Purchasing Working knowledge of distribution processes

Qualifications 

Procurement experience in distribution is preferred 3-5+ years experience in purchasing and/or supply chain Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain Mgt or Business preferred) or equivalent work experience Ability to work in a fast-paced, distribution work environment and ability to react quickly to changes in demand Experience with Epicor/P21 highly desired Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and react quickly to changes in demand or requests for pricing & availability
