Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Environmental Scientist Senior, we'll count on you to
Lead environmental work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project’s life cycle (from development and initiation to close-out) Prepare, plan and analyze/review technical studies, permit applications, and similar reports/documents Take responsibility for many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a larger project or work independently on medium-size projects Determine the level of environmental analysis required for proposals Coordinate workload through project execution and complete deliverables on budget and schedule Manage or collect project-related data, which may include research, constraints mapping, leading field surveys for threatened and endangered species and wetland delineations, map reviews, etc. Perform complex assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods Assist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition and compliance Write or review environmental reports Collaborate with project design teams, project managers, and other environmental and cultural resource experts to develop creative design and mitigation solutions for a wide variety of infrastructure projects in sensitive environmental areas. Work with project managers, accounting, GIS, operational and business leadership for periodic project reviews Perform other task management related duties as needed
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field 10 years technical and/or field experience preparing environmental documents Demonstrated knowledge of the NEPA process Experience managing large, complex EIS documents for transportation, large facility, land management, or other infrastructure projects Technical expertise in the design, implementation, interpretation and presentation of data for environmental studies and investigations in specialized discipline Proficient with MS Office Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Staff management experience beneficial An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPreferred Qualifications
Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, research, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills USFWS Permit for various species Experience supervising staff, leading field teams, and preparing proposals Experience in regulatory permit coordination and agency consultation (ex.
