Job Title: Grower Accountant

Job Summary:We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Grower Accountant to join our team. The Grower Accountant will be responsible for managing financial activities related to crop production and farming operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of agricultural accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work closely with growers to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage financial activities related to crop production, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
2. Work closely with growers to develop and maintain crop production budgets and projections.
3. Monitor and analyze crop yields, production costs, and market prices to optimize profitability.
4. Maintain accurate records of crop inventories, harvest yields, and production expenses.
5. Prepare financial reports and statements related to crop production, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis.
6. Perform cost accounting analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
7. Coordinate with internal departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure timely delivery of inputs and equipment to growers.
8. Assist growers with financial planning and decision-making, including crop selection, planting schedules, and input purchasing.
9. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to crop production and farming operations.
10. Collaborate with accounting and finance team members to integrate grower financial data into overall financial reporting.
11. Provide support and guidance to growers regarding accounting processes, procedures, and systems.
12. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to agricultural accounting and crop production.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Economics, or related field.
2. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
3. Proven experience in agricultural accounting or related field.
4. Strong understanding of agricultural production processes, crop cycles, and farming operations.
5. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with growers and internal stakeholders.
8. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
10. Knowledge of agricultural regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
11. Experience with farm management software and ERP systems is a plus.
12. Willingness to travel to grower locations as needed.
