Position Objective:
Intern position responsible for assisting the Supply Director and Production Planners to achieve the below objective:
Continuously improving planning systems to ensure that daily operations are capable of meeting demand expectations. Must hold paramount achieving customer excellence and employee safety. Provide Production Planning team support in daily operations, develop and implement improvement projects in current planned assembly lines.
Dimensions of Position:
Assist Production Planners in daily execution of manufacturing plan and development of improvement projects.
Provide work direction to assembly, purchasing and warehouse personnel.
Relationship to Others:
Production Planners: Work direction.
Supply Chain Director: Weekly reviews.
Operations, Engineering, Quality, Marketing, and Suppliers: Main contact points in making, qualifying, improving, and resolving processes as needed to ensure and improve supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Lead lean initiatives including supply chain planning methods, master data updates and improvements, and identify inefficiencies through the use of lean principles. Track progress by the use of setting goals and tracking progress to ensure goals are met.
- Work hand in hand with production planners in supporting the daily production expectations and plan.
- Work hand in hand with Purchasing to ensure component availability to meet and execute production plan
- Work hand in hand with operations team to plan and execute production build plan.
- Work with production planners and purchasing to identify and execute cost reduction projects and/or supply process improvements.
- Perform other duties and assume accountability as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives.
Education & Experience:
- In pursuit or has a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering. Completed most or all upper division courses.
- Past work in a manufacturing environment desirable, not required.
