Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Drywall Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost and duration of drywall projects, preparing competitive bids, and working closely with project managers to ensure successful project completion. This role requires a strong understanding of drywall materials, labor costs, and construction processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for drywall projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to understand project requirements and constraints.
- Perform site visits to assess conditions, gather measurements, and evaluate potential challenges.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and bids, including material quantities, labor hours, and subcontractor costs.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project specifications.
- Maintain and update a database of historical costs and unit prices for materials and labor.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and post-bid reviews to address any questions or concerns.
- Monitor project budgets and assist in cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay current with industry trends, material prices, and construction methods to provide the most accurate estimates.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Drywall Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of drywall materials, installation methods, and construction processes.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
