Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

gpac is currently working with a food manufacturer near Knoxville, TN who is looking to add Ammonia Refrigeration Technicians and Operators to their team. Business is booming and the company is going through rapid growth

 

They are seeking candidates with previous ammonium refrigeration experience.

  • Operators need to have completed RETA Operator 1 course
  • Technicians need to have completed RETA Operator 1 and 2 courses (Possession of CIRO Certification will substitute).

Candidates also need to have:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of maintenance experience with 1-2 years of experience in Industrial Refrigeration (2-4 years refrigeration experience for Techs)
  • Ability to read micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
  • Ability to read and understand Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&IDs)
  • Manufacturing experience in a Food Facility
  • Experience with fire-tube boilers and industrial air compressors a plus

 

Operators will be responsible for operating the ammonia refrigeration system including start-up, shut down, and manipulation of machine setpoints. 

Technicians will be responsible for performing specific preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical repair, operation, and other various tasks related to the ammonia refrigeration system to meet production, shipping, storage, and refrigeration needs.
