This position is responsible for the overall operation & maintenance of the Missouri River Correctional Center.
Duties and Tasks
Operate , maintain, and repair facility HVAC equipment.
Assist and perform skilled trades as needed.
Help the Facilities Director III and Deputy Warden create and maintain operating budgets pertaining to facility operations.
Management of facility maintenance on-call program to include serving in an on-call capacity.
Supervision of facility grounds maintenance.
Provide direct supervision of two full time employees working with the physical plant to include4 direct supervision of up to six resident inmate workers. This position will also develop and teach employable skills to the inmate workforce to better position them for successful transition back to the community.
Write and establish contracts related to the goods and services required to operate the facility.
Manage and oversee projects run by contractors and vendors.
Research, develop, and verify scope of work on projects and ensure building code compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires four years of work experience in the operation and maintenance of a complex physical plant. The experience must have included substantial responsibilities for preventive and special maintenance of facilities, equipment and grounds, custodial services, on-site review and coordination of contractor projects, interpreting blueprints and building plans, and estimating costs. Requires familiarity with building codes, handling of infectious and hazardous materials, and related regulations or similar duties related to physical plant operations. One year of the work experience must have included responsibility for scheduling and lead work or supervision of other employees.
