The position of Group Vice President of Information Technology and Innovation is a senior leadership role within our organization. In conjunction with Marmon IT initiatives, this individual is responsible for overseeing and driving the strategic direction of companies within the Metal Services Group IT department while also leading initiatives related to innovation and technology adoption. The Group Vice President of Information Technology and Innovation plays a crucial role in shaping the organization's technological landscape and ensuring that it remains secure, competitive, efficient, and adaptable in a rapidly evolving business environment.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. Professional certifications in IT management, cybersecurity, or related fields. Exceptional leadership skills with proven experience in managing large, diverse teams spanning multiple locations. Extensive experience in a senior IT leadership role, with a proven track record in IT strategy, cybersecurity, infrastructure management, IT advocacy, and supporting corporate initiatives. Minimum of 10 years relevant experience, with a demonstrated history of upward career progression. The successful candidate must have led IT in a company that has experienced significant times of change to position the company for success in the long-term. Demonstrated ability in leading IT transformation and scaling technology for business growth. Strong understanding of current and emerging IT trends and their application in enhancing business performance and security. Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Major Responsibility Areas

Provide leadership, innovation, and oversight for the Group infrastructure function. Oversee all aspects of Group infrastructure to ensure it meets the organization’s current goals and objectives. Monitor implementation and maintenance of the Group-wide system tools and ensure scalability and accessibility of applications or services. Establish operating policies to mitigate risk. Quickly assess current IT organization and design an IT organization that supports the business’s growth and technology simplification strategy. Primary responsibility for creating a sustainable competitive advantage for the Metal Services Group businesses by effectively planning and managing all group-wide information systems activities, including application development, infrastructure, cyber security, acquisition, and eCommerce activities. Develops the vision, strategy and thinking methodologies used to innovate new products and services, introduce ideas to improve existing processes, and foster culture of innovation. Articulates innovation strategy and defines objectives and measures aligned with overall company goals that add value to stakeholders. Champions innovation projects and oversees resources and budgets. Optimize software and hardware solutions to reduce variability across the businesses in the group. Manage and champion Cybersecurity and align strategies with corporate policies. Drive IT simplification across 6 businesses and rationalize multiple ERP environments. Drive IT simplification across 8 businesses and rationalize multiple ERP environments. Develop and implement a group wide ERP conversion, transitioning from legacy systems to a packaged ERP solution with minimal business disruption. Plan and execute a detailed project plan that incorporates milestones, timetables, financial investment, and systems metrics. Ensure the appropriate modules are selected and build out the business and program plan for the overall implementation. Provide the roadmap to how customers, agents, regions, etc. relate will be critical to the overall success of the ERP implementation. Identify process improvements and apply best in class methodologies to drive discipline in IT. Work closely with business leaders to understand opportunities for IT to enable business operations, maximize revenue streams and improve profitability. Create a new hierarchy of data and determine how this impacts the business moving forward. Build effective relationships across the business and oversee the preparation of business cases to support proposed IT initiatives. Be a hands-on IT leader to ensure activities and projects are managed effectively, accurately and completed on-time. Spearhead initiatives to leverage cutting-edge automation technologies in plant and facility operations, aiming to achieve world-class efficiency and productivity. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions that enhance manufacturing processes and exceed customer expectations. Lead the evaluation and adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, such as IoT sensors, robotics, and AI-driven automation, to optimize production workflows and drive continuous improvement. Drive a culture of innovation by encouraging experimentation and piloting new automation tools and methodologies, ensuring a rapid pace of innovation and adaptation to industry trends. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the impact of automation initiatives, regularly reporting on progress and identifying areas for further optimization and innovation. Ability to travel frequently to work with teams as needed.
