Toro is reopening early September relaunching after anextensive renovation. Be part of the opening team for this excitingnew dining experience.
Reporting to the Chef deCuisine responsibilities and essential job functions include butare not limited to thefollowing:
- Basic knowledge of AsianCuisine including but not limited to Japanese Thai Chinese Mandarinand Korean.
- Knowledge of Wok Cookery and Sushiproduction.
- Assist in creating new AsianCuisine items for specials/new menus.
- Maintaincomplete knowledge of and comply with all departmentalpolicies/service procedures/standards.
- Maintaincomplete knowledge of correct maintenance and uses of equipment.Use equipment as intended.
- Monitor and maintaincleanliness sanitation and organization of assigned workareas.
- Maintain and strictly abide by statesanitation/Health regulations and Resortrequirements.
- Set up workstation with requiredmise en place tools equipment andsupplies.
- Return all food items to the properstorage areas.
- Wrap cover label and date allitems being put away.
- Clean up and wipe downfood prep areas reachins/walkins andshelves.
- Prepare all menu items followingrecipes and yield guides.
- Inform supervisor ofany shortages that need to be replenished for the daystasks.
- Communicate any assistance needed duringbusy periods to the Jr. Sous Sous Chef or Chef de CuisineProduction to ensure optimum service to theguest.
- Attend designatedmeetings.
- Perform duties in other areas of thekitchen or other resort kitchens asassigned.
- Follow maintenance program andcleaning schedule.
- Other duties asassigned.
Qualifications:
- Previousexperience in the Sushi fieldrequired
- Strong interpersonal and problemsolving abilities
- Highly responsible &reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure ina fast paced environment
- Ability to workcohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focusattention on guest needs remaining calm and courteous at alltimes
