Hair and Makeup Artist

Shopbop is looking for a talented Hair and Makeup Artist to create looks for daily e-commerce shoots in our photo studio based in Madison, WI. The ideal candidate is passionate about beauty and fashion, eager to learn and brings an optimistic attitude. Key job responsibilities
• Take direction from Styling Managers in the form of style guides, descriptions and/or tear sheets
• Collaborate with teams to create looks aligned with the Shopbop customer
• Deliver high-quality, brand-right artistry across a diverse model pool and a variety of brand collections
• Maintain an atmosphere of open and positive communication, professionalism and creativity
• Act as a mentor to freelance hair and makeup artists to ensure desired results are achieved
• Troubleshoot unexpected hair and makeup situations arising, and ability to provide solutions
• Manage other business duties as they arise

Madison, WI, USA

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience with all hair textures and skin tones
• A portfolio that demonstrates ability to deliver inspiring beauty from creative direction
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with other team members
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and respond to change with a positive attitude
• Excellent work ethic, attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to multitask
• An understanding of how to style in a fast-paced, fashion-driven setting across a diverse model pool
• Creative mindset

• 3+ years of professional Hair and Makeup experience preferably in a fashion-related photo or video shoot environment/studio
• Knowledge of contemporary and designer brands
• Cosmetology license
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new computer applications
