Community Education Assistant

Summary/Objective
Provide support and customer service for trainings and events and provied local public programs.
Essential Job Duties
Assist Conservation Educator with programs and presentations. Interact with public during training events, public programs, and activities. Maintain a safe and friendly learning environment. Must maintain a current drivers license and may be required to use a trailer.
Ancillary Job Duties
Teaching public programs, such as but not limited to, fishing, fly fishing, archery, and hunter education. Other duties, as assigned.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or G.E.D./HiSET equivalent. At least one (1) year of related experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to use office equipment, such as computer, calculator, camera, scanner and printer Time management and organizational skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Work Environment
Frequently work in a standard office environment. Frequently work in outdoor weather and/or in an office setting
Physical Abilities
Frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Multi-tasking in an office environment, often sitting for long periods at a time.

Exemption Status/Special Notes This position has been determined to be Nonexempt according to the Fair Labor Standards Act. Employees must agree to accept compensatory time in lieu of cash payments in accordance with the Department's Compensatory Time Off and Overtime Policy. Salaried and hourly employees are expected to use a mobile device-cellular phone for Department business, as needed. MDC promotes a Tobacco-Free (smoke and smokeless) working environment.
