POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Stock Specialist - Meatroom is responsible for maintaining the order and sanitation of the storage areas in the meatroom area. The Senior Stock Specialist assists in the receipt of deliveries and the proper dating, storage, and rotation of all products. This position will work with the meatroom team to ensure all kitchen requisitions are filled properly according to specifications.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in the proper receipt of all deliveries. Responsible for proper storage and rotation of all products, ensuring all controls are maintained. Ensures proper fill of classroom requisitions. Completes fabrication as required. Provides coverage in the Fish Fabrication area as needed. Notifies Buyer of any unforeseen product movement or shortages. Refers all special order requests to the Buyer’s attention. Manages and implements the inventory, ordering and requisition aspects of the Eatec purchasing system. Provides customer service either by phone or in person to customers seeking assistance. Participates in all required routine and monthly inventories. Responsible for proper order and sanitation of storage and receiving areas. Any and all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a butchery and/or seafood environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of various cuts of meat and their culinary applications. Willingness to learn the same in seafood. Proven skill in interacting with students and chefs. Previous experience using inventory management systems, such as Eatec.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Working knowledge of basic butchery (including grinds and band saw work). Ability to effectively communicate with customers utilizing email, by phone, and in person. Must display a high level of energy and self-motivation. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to be adaptable, dependable and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be available to work overtime on nights and weekends, as required by business needs. Regular work requires a great deal of sitting and standing for extended periods. Ability to frequently lift and carry thirty (30) pounds. Ability to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds or more with assistance. Ability to withstand high ambient outdoor temperatures while working at the loading dock and low temperatures in refrigerated and freezer areas.
