Job Summary: Custom Manufacturing & Engineering, Inc. (CME) is seeking a dedicated and innovative Electrical Engineer with a strong focus on analog and power design to join our dynamic team. As an Electrical Engineer at CME, you will be at the forefront of developing, prototyping, and testing analog, power, and mixed-signal components, systems, and subsystems for industrial, defense, and space applications. You will work on a variety of projects, from precision analog circuits to power management systems, contributing to the creation of cutting-edge technology solutions. Additionally, you will play a critical role in root cause failure analysis, developing test procedures, and ensuring compliance with electromagnetic interference standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analog & Power Design: Lead the design and development of analog circuits, including amplifiers, filters, power supplies, signal conditioning circuits, and power management systems.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate analog and power systems with digital, RF/microwave, and other components.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Build and test prototypes of analog and power circuits, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, safety, and electromagnetic interference standards.
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis: Conduct in-depth root cause failure analysis for analog and power systems, identifying issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Test Procedure Development: Develop and refine test procedures and testing systems to validate the performance and reliability of analog and power systems.
  • Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Compliance: Apply knowledge of electromagnetic interference principles to design and test systems that comply with EMI regulations.
  • Documentation: Develop detailed design documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, test plans, and root cause analysis reports.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with suppliers to source specialized components and ensure they meet CME's quality and performance standards.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical expertise during the manufacturing process and assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to analog and power systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in analog and power technology and implement best practices in design, testing, and root cause analysis.

Job Qualifications:

  • Analog & Power Design Expertise: Strong background in designing, simulating, and testing analog and power circuits, with proficiency in using tools like SPICE, OrCAD, or equivalent.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Demonstrated experience in performing root cause failure analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Testing Procedures: Proven ability to develop and refine test procedures and systems for analog and power components.
  • EMI Knowledge: Experience with electromagnetic interference and a solid understanding of related materials and compliance requirements.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex analog and power systems and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Innovation: A passion for staying at the cutting edge of analog and power technology and continuously improving design processes and outcomes.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear technical reports and present findings to diverse audiences.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in analog and power circuit design, including hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and root cause analysis. Recent experience in electrical engineering is highly preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in circuit design software and tools, with a strong understanding of analog and power design principles.
  • U.S. Person: Positions with CME require access to controlled goods and technologies subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations. Applicants must be "U.S. Persons" as defined in these regulations.

Travel Percentage Required: Minimal & usually local to vendors, 0% - 5%.
