CAI is seeking an experienced Virtualization/Cloud Engineer with 8+ years of experience. This is an onsite contract opportunity for a major client in Alexandria, Virgina.

*Candidates must be located in the DC metro (DC proper, Prince Georges/Montgomery County MD, Northern Va area*

We are seeking a highly motivated, and detail-oriented IT professional to join our team. We are seeking a successful candidate who has hands-on experience with VMware ESXi Infrastructure, expert level capabilities with scripting – PowerShell / PowerCLI, SQL Server Replication, disaster recovery solutions and production roll-over, Microsoft Office 365 Suite – Exchange, Skype-for-Business, OneDrive and other Office application. Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide expertise in designing scalable back-end infrastructure for hosting, and provisioning virtual servers and desktops

Independently architect, develop and lead a project to upgrade existing VMware vSphere and Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop and NetScaler infrastructure to latest level

Makes recommendation on suitable hardware and bring it online connected to 10G Network and Fibre-Channel SAN

Independently install and configure hypervisors ESXi 6.5, 7.x, or Citrix XenServer or Microsoft Hyper-V as per project requirement

Configures vCenter Server Appliance or XenCenter or SCVMM for managing virtual infrastructure (Hosts and Virtual machines) in multiple geographically distant sites

Building operating system (Windows and Unix/Linux) templates for virtual server and gold images for virtual desktop infrastructure

Deploying and managing virtual servers from templates in a multi-site environment

Critically troubleshoots virtual server and desktop related issues both on virtualization and operating system side

Respond to server monitoring system alerts to evaluate and remedy identified problems.

Participates in the identification of system vulnerabilities and their mitigation, by applying security updates to hypervisors and operating systems to stay in compliance

Designs and implements scalable virtual machine back-up infrastructure

Participate in the development, testing, and implementation of disaster recovery procedures for critical systems.

Facilitates migration to Microsoft Office 365 in Azure Cloud by engaging with vendor

Extends support and user training on MS Office 365 suite (primarily including Skype-for Business, Broadcast, OneDrive-for-Business and other office products)

Provides top tier support administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting Windows 2008 Active directory (or greater) in distributed Microsoft Windows infrastructure and ensure best practices are implemented.

Manage and troubleshoot Group Policy at all levels (local, OU, site, etc).

Assist with the support and operation of DNS, LDAP, Meta, and Virtual directories.

Troubleshoots hardware issues and upgrades BIOS and Firmware as needed

Evaluate, analyze and audit production systems processes and equipment, and help develop and implement solutions to aid with the continuity of operations.

Participate in primary on call rotation supporting the Office of Data Center and Infrastructure and be available for after-hours and weekend support of critical servers as necessary.

Ensure compliance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs), change management policies and security policy.

Participate in the development of written project plans, task schedules, test and evaluation plans, system design documents, and network configuration documentation. 

Understand critical function areas and business processes in effort to provide immediate support for 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi Infrastructure - Required 8 Years

Hands-on experience with Citrix-based VDI technology in VMware environment – XenApp, XenDesktop, NetScaler - Required 8 Years

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office 365 Suite – Exchange, Skype-for-Business, OneDrive and other Office application - Required 6 Years

Hands-on experience with Windows 2012R2-based Active Directory environment - Required 8 Years

Experience with the patch management strategies - Required 10 Years

Expert level capabilities with scripting – PowerShell / PowerCLI - Required 10 Years 

Expert level experience with SQL Server Replication - Required 8 Years

Hands on experience with disaster recovery solutions and production roll-over - Required 8 Years
