Who We Are: Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 15,500 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. The District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9 – 12th grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Move-In Facilitator/Lead Teacher will report to Director of Academic Support Programs and indirectly to Director of Diverse Learners.

Responsibilities: The Move-In Facilitator/Lead Teacher position will be responsible for ensuring that the students who move into Waukegan Public Schools with a current IEP or whose parents state they have special education needs are properly processed with student support, have the accurate paperwork, are entered into both Infinite Campus and TERA and that all key staff members are notified, placed into the proper school and that an intake staffing is scheduled; The Move-In Facilitator/Lead Teacher will facilitate intake IEP meetings for Move-In students for specific cases, by request or when directed to by the Director of Diverse Learners and will also facilitate IEP meetings throughout the district on an as needed basis when requested by the Director of Diverse Learners. 
: Assist parents in completing the proper paperwork in Student Support and work with student Support to ensure all paperwork is complete; Confirm students require special education services by obtaining IEPs, calling former schools, speaking with the parents; Maintain accurate records and logs of all conversations and information gathered; Assist in entering the information in to Infinite Campus and TERA; Work cooperatively with the psychologists and coordinators in the buildings to place the child and send the proper notification that the student will be attending the building; Assist in scheduling and intake IEPs within 10 days of the students entering Waukegan Public Schools to follow federal laws. 
: Facilitate, schedule and attend IEPs; Maintain accurate records on electronic IEP system; Implement school district and division philosophies and objectives; Implement and follow federal and state laws; Work cooperatively and enthusiastically with colleagues and administrators; Act as a liaison between the Administration Office of the Director and various building principals; Provide professional support to parents, teachers, colleagues, and other interested individuals; Attempt to establish good human relations throughout the school district among teachers, pupils, principals, support staff, parents and the community.
: Perform such other duties assigned by the Director of Academic Support Programs and/or Director of Diverse Learners.
Qualifications : Professional Educators License (PEL) with an Endorsement in Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1), PreK - Age 21 Knowledgeable of Special Education; Effective oral and written communication skills; Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a variety of professional disciplines; Proven experience facilitating IEPs; Other employment criteria of the District as applicable.
Salary : Per teachers' contract
