As an API Inspector you will perform visual and nondestructive examination on stationary equipment in accordance with the API and ASME standards, provide technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment. You will be charged with the management of equipment drawings, inspection of fixed equipment to maintain compliance, general support of the maintenance group through technical support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Journeyman level ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, equipment drawings, P&ID’s and other reference materials Ability to work in a team with a high regard for safety and environmental concerns and with a strong commitment to policies Effective written, verbal, and communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company Demonstrated computer skills in Windows environment with experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Technical report writing skills Demonstrated computer skills in CMMS environment with experience in SAP, PMs, Notifications, and Work Orders. Demonstrated computer skills in Mechanical Integrity Inspection Software (PCMS, PSAim, Ultra Pipe etc.) Provide technical input as required for welding and metallurgical issues Perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment in accordance with American Petroleum Institute (API) standard 510, American Petroleum Institute (API) standard 570 Self-initiative and high motivation and ability to work with minimum supervision Demonstrated leadership skills (preferred) Satisfactory performance record (internal applicant) Ability to work safely in a Manufacturing and Industrial environment Knowledge of basic forms of Non-Destructive Examination and their purposes, limitations, and how they are performed. UTT/MT/PT experience and/or certification required Continuous improvement focus Strong communication, computer, organizational and interpersonal skills required to work in a team-based environment Fully support Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on project teams. This position will be required to drive company vehicles from time to time.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Associates/Technical degree, ABC or NCCER Certification API 510/570 Certifications (required) Five years skill related experience (required)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
