Job Title: SQL Database Administrator

Responsibilities of the SQL Database Administrator: 
McLane Advanced Technologies is seeking a Database Administrator to support a Department of Energy (DOE) contract in Albuquerque, NM or Oakridge, TN. As a SQL DBA, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our SQL database systems. You will ensure the availability, security, and performance of our SQL databases, supporting critical business operations and data-driven decision making. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in SQL database administration, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

The SQL Database Administrator will: 
 
  • Utilize advanced features of SQL Server, such as Replication and Always On.
  • Perform regular backups and restores of databases.
  • Configure and implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Servers.
  • Optimize indexes, manage index performance, and analyze statistics.
  • Work with SQL Server tools to enhance database management.
  • Address performance tuning and optimization (PTO) issues using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Document all database maintenance procedures thoroughly.
  • Keep SQL servers up to date with the latest patches and updates.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in SQL Development, including the ability to write and troubleshoot SQL code and design (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, and constraints).

Qualifications: 
 
  • Minimum of 8 years of Information Technology experience.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in MS SQL Server administration and maintenance.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Mongo DB is a must.
  • Excellent planning and coordination skills.
  • Active DOE or DOD security clearance.
