Position: Biology- BI101 & BI214 Location: Charleston, SC Job Id: 768 # of Openings: 1 Appointments are made on a term-by-term basis. Adjunct faculty are required to successfully complete an online Canvas LMS orientation course before being scheduled, as well as other training if required by the department. This is an on-site blended/hybrid course, students attend class in person 60% of the time and complete the remaining 40% online through Park’s Canvas Learning Management System. Note: Healthcare Administration is a business degree and is not suitable for teaching biology.” BI101 Biological Concepts Course Description  Biological Concepts offers an overview of the fundamental facts and principles of modern biology. The course is designed for the non-science student who wishes to gain an understanding of current biological concepts and their relevance to problems of human society. Emphasis will be on life, its origin, chemistry, energy transformations, reproduction, generics, evolution, and ecology. At home laboratory activities are included. BI214 Personal and Community Health Course Description  Educational in nature with emphasis on personal hygiene, community health and health education, this course covers diverse topics such as: wellness, mental health, stress, nutrition, weight management, communicable disease, noncommunicable disease, reproductive health, parenting, substance abuse, aging and ecology. Socioeconomic and sociocultural factors that impact the wellness of specific cultural groups will also be discussed.
