The City of Peoria’s Development and Engineering Department/Engineering Services Division has an excellent opportunity for an Engineering Inspector that will serve as a liaison between the contractor, developer, utility company, and other City departments and staff. The position will perform journey level work in the inspection of the development projects, construction of a variety of City infrastructure projects and non-City owned utilities. This is accomplished by inspecting workmanship and materials used in a variety of projects, and ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and departmental regulations.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills;Experience performing civil inspections, monitoring construction activities, and performing acceptance testing in the construction industry;Knowledge in the fields of temporary traffic control and storm water pollution construction site inspection, as well as field-testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt pavement materials;Experience in a municipal or government setting.
