Engadine Consolidated Schools is seeking a qualified K-12 Art and/or Technology Teacher.

Engadine Consolidated Schools is located in western Mackinac County in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, approximately 45 minutes west of St. Ignace and 20 minutes south of Newberry. We are a small school district with a K-12 population of approximately 300 students, comprising the small towns of Engadine, Gould City, Naubinway, Epoufette, Rexton and bordered by beautiful Lake Michigan on the south, farming country with a sizable Amish population to the north and numerous forests, lakes and countryside. The famed Hiawatha Sportsman Club is located centrally within our district. ECS is a tight knit community with an excellent teaching and support staff and we are looking for energetic individuals to join our team. Average class sizes range from 20-25 students. TITLE: Classroom Teacher – ART Teacher
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB FUNCTION: The teacher shall serve as the educational leader in his/her classroom.
DISTRICT DESCRIPTION: Engadine Consolidated Schools have approximately 266 students and is located within the Eastern Upper Peninsula’s Intermediate School District.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with the district provided curriculum. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
Establish a classroom structure that values positive relationships through intentional implementation of the district curriculum.
Support non-academic needs, through the student support network district system, of all students in order to remove barriers that interfere with academic success.
Provide appropriate/timely feedback on work.
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust
teaching strategies.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations.
Prepare required reports on students and activities.
Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings.
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs using the Communications Protocol.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Prepare classroom for class activities.
Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments.

• the capacity to rigorously create and sustain a well-orchestrated system of ongoing data collection and analysis to inform a continuously responsive and adaptive system of tiered instruction attentive to students’ specific academic needs;
• the capacity to align curriculum, instruction, and assessments while responding to individual needs of students;
• the ability to seek out knowledgeable peers, coaches, or administrators for instructional support in the never ending quest to deliver the vision of high quality subject-specific instruction in every class period every day.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education – Art Certification K-12, LX, LQ or LZ Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher – Technology TX or TE Endorsement
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
Valid state licensing to meet Highly Qualified requirements

Preferred: Previous classroom teaching experience in a comparable district
