Summary

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Power Americas (MPWA) and a Group Company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), MHI Hydrogen Infrastructure is boldly accelerating the energy transition and moving the world towards a brighter, sustainable, and decarbonized world. We are already building large-scale hydrogen-fueled power plants and are rapidly expanding our portfolio to provide hydrogen production plants, as well as hydrogen storage and infrastructure solutions. In short, we are building a value chain for hydrogen, from production to use, through the integration of existing energy infrastructure with advanced hydrogen-related technology.
We are leading the industry in shaping the hydrogen ecosystem, from our hydrogen-capable gas turbines to our investments in the world’s first and largest integrated green hydrogen production and storage hub.

We are rapidly expanding our Hydrogen Infrastructure development team to support new hydrogen infrastructure development activities throughout the Americas. We seek a colleague to join the Hydrogen Infrastructure Development team as a Commercial Strategy Analyst . This person should be qualified and experienced in Hydrogen and derivative products with the desire to learn at a rapid pace in an emerging market.

This position will report directly to the Director, Commercial Strategy

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

Analyze market studies and reports for commodities to determine trends and competitive landscape.  Review, evaluate, and guide commercial structuring, pricing and trading. Develop market strategies for hydrogen and derivative products’ markets including targeted customers, upcoming tendering opportunities, and price points. Collaborate with cross functional team members and subject matter experts (SMEs) to support project definitions. Create and maintain project updates and progress reports; identify risks and possible solutions for discussion and agreement with team members. Support the development and maintenance of status reports and presentations. Identify, track, and implement lessons learned to drive success in the MHI Hydrogen Infrastructure team.

Qualified applicants will have the organization and attention to detail necessary to develop winning strategies that support MHI Hydrogen Infrastructure’s mission to create a reliable hydrogen economy with experience in pricing/trading hydrogen or hydrogen derivatives. They should be comfortable coordinating with a variety of entities to reach alignment in path to a successful strategy Candidates should display a strong drive to deliver results, be persistent in overcoming obstacles and eager to take responsibility in a complex development landscape. Successful candidates will also demonstrate evidence of working independently in an unstructured environment.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BS) from four-year accredited college or university in business, data analysis, economics, marketing, or relevant field; and minimum one (1) year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, Value Skills: Commitment to personal integrity and honesty Microsoft Office software proficiency, with engineering and/or financial modeling experience a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Analytical, research and quantitative aptitude. Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate and build rapport and trust with a wide variety of stakeholders. Flexibility and willingness to learn and “pitch in” at all levels. Interest and ability to work in a small team environment. Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks. Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
