Munich Re America Services (MRAS) is a shared service organization that delivers services to all Munich Re US P&C Companies and other group entities.

IT Business Solutions Finance North America group delivers business value through the management of Financial IT products including implementation of change projects in a disciplined, business focused, engaged and methodical way to all Finance units in Munich Re North America.

The Solution Architect will deliver business value through the management of IT products including execution of change projects, implementation and maintenance of applications in the area of Business Intelligence, Reporting and Planning. The role will report to the Head of Business Solutions Finance - North America and be a key technology support partner to the business application owners.


Job Responsibilities:

Design of architectures that meet both functional and non-functional requirements, taking into high complexity and large amounts of data in account Data modeling (data warehouse, databases) and data provision via reports or dashboards (data storytelling) or system interfaces Design and implement technology solutions and mapping of business requirements to systems/technical requirements to ensure alignment with the Global Finance architecture and technology roadmaps. Applying technical knowledge to architectural solutions that meet business and IT needs and ensure long term technical viability of new deployments, infusing key analytics technologies where appropriate and maximizing the return on technology investments Establishment and further development of an efficient Run organization in cooperation with our partners Responsibility for compliance with relevant requirements/guidelines such as system performance, monitoring requirements, auditability, security aspects

Your profile

Qualifications and Experience:

University degree in Finance or technical discipline or IT-related technical work experience 10+ years professional background in software development as an architect Experience in designing and developing solutions (Solution Development life cycles, and the application of IT risk & security considerations) Proven experience in designing and developing solutions (Solution Development life cycles, and the application of IT risk & security considerations) Strong knowledge of IT architecture principles, enterprise architecture frameworks, and various technology platforms. Proficiency in data modeling, data integration, and data analytics, as data is a crucial aspect of insurance operations. Strong knowledge of cloud-based solutions and emerging technologies in the insurance industry. Understanding how these technologies can be applied to improve processes and enhance customer experiences. Knowledge of critical aspects and complexities of Insurance domain is an advantage Knowledge of regulatory (insurance and banking) reporting is an advantage (HGB, IFRS, Solvency II) High level of service and internal/external client orientation as well as driver of operational efficiency Collaborative working style, creating a culture of accountability and sharing Ability to function as a member of a matrix/ hybrid technology team, willing to contribute in any capacity required to achieve success. Adaptive interpersonal, communicative and consultative skills to function across all levels, peers, business clients, and IT management.
