Inova Murphy Children's Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Advance Practice Provider (APP)to work full time in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU). The PCICU is a 12-bed, dedicated Unit staffed by pediatric cardiac intensivists, specially trained nurses, respiratory therapists, clinical pharmacist, nutritionist, child life specialists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, case managers and social workers. The APP will evaluate, diagnose, and treat cardiac medical patients as well as pre- and post-operative/catheterization cardiac patients, u nder the direction of the pediatric cardiac intensivist. Central to the role, the APP will assist in developing and implementing plans of care for all patients in the PCICU and participate in protocol/guideline development. The APP functions in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary cardiac team, while also providing consultation and education to patients and their families.

Requirements:

Master's degree in Pediatric Advance Practice Provider studies from an accredited program Active VA RN/APP License Acute Care Certification by Pediatric Nursing Certification Board BLS/ACLS and PALS certification Ability to work a flexible schedule, 12-hour shifts, days, nights, weekends and holidays Pediatric cardiac experience preferred
